
Peter has helped thousands of university students and graduates develop their career plans and learn how to become effective managers of their own careers during his 20 years in practice. He is passionate about his work as a career consultant and has worked with students and graduates both here in the UK and also in China. He is famous for his work on the internationally aclaimed CareerEDGE model , which has been introduced to the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and Xiamen University of Technology through British Council funded PMI2 projects. This model was used to inform the Pan-European ‘Future Skills in Biotechnology’ project funded by the Eurpoean Commission.
Peter is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Institute and an Associate Member of AGCAS, the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services. He has experience of working not only with students and graduates in higher education, but also working with executives, managers, entrepreneurs and creative professionals in business and the public sector. As a Chartered Psychologist, he specialise in career management, work psychology, emotional intelligence and psychometric assessment. He has worked as an occupational psychologist for the UK Goverment’s Employment Service, as a university careers adviser and as a senior lecturer in employability & enterprise at the University of Central Lancashire, one of the leading universities for employability in the UK. In January 2010 he was appointed as a tutor for entrepreneurship and career development for college students at Xiamen University of Technology in Employability & Entrepreneurship.
Based in Shanghai, Mrs. Lin is a consultant, coach and trainer with over 10 years experience in HR Management, including seven years experience in fortune 500 and publicly traded corporations.
Her experience includes setting up HR management from scratch for newly established companies and implementing HR restructuring projects after M&A.
She has gained a deep understanding of both the operational and the strategic aspects of HR Management and gained experience in leading a team and creating business value.
She has always been strongly attracted to and inspired by Human Resources Development and has participated and delivered many HR Consulting projects?Assessment Centres, training events and coaching throughout her career.
Projects have ranged widely across HR audit, building HR systems, designing/updating Job Descriptionss, hiring criteria, recruitment process, assessment centres, performance management, training and development systems, succession planning and corporate culture strengthening.
Past projects have included work with Bosch Group, Omron, Carrefour, Shanghai Volkswagen, Skoda, Marriot, GTA, Accenture, Fuchs Lubricants, Lansheng Group, MAN Turbo, Sinochem and many other well-known companies.

Through her work and publications with the Association of Graduate Careers Services (AGCAS) she has developed a national profile as an expert in graduate employability in higher education. She loves to inspire transformation, personal development and success in individuals. As part of her prtfolio of professional development work, she has recently been working with Master’s International Business students from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds, including many Chinese students.
